Working with Entry Details

Entering Details

To enter a detail, press the Tab key until you move into the spreadsheet details area or click the mouse pointer in the top left field of the spreadsheet area and press insert.

Enter the information for the detail, press Right/Left or Up/Down arrows to move you around the spreadsheet.

The Enter key will advance you one column to the right. Pressing Enter at the last field to open a new detail line.

To enter a multi-line comment use your F9 Zoom key, and enter these multi-line comments here.

Record the information entered so far at any time by choosing Add.

To insert a detail, press the Insert key and a new detail line appears.

You can position the data entry point at any field by using the mouse.

Move and resize: If you have a mouse, you can rearrange the columns in which you enter the detail fields.

You can change their order by right clicking and dragging the column headings.

You can resize column widths by clicking and dragging the vertical lines between columns.

Maximize: To show larger detail of your Batch Entry Window, use the Maximize button.

Editing details: To edit a detail, enter the appropriate change and record it by choosing Save.

Deleting details: To delete a detail, select it (highlight it) from the list of details in the Batch Entry Window and press the Delete key from your keypad.

The detail line will be deleted.

After Entering

  1. Choose Batches from the Reports Menu and print the Batch Entries Report. Make corrections, if needed, and then reprint the listing for each corrected batch.
  2. Batch Listings must be printed before posting the batch, Cashbook has a facility ‘Force Listing of Batches which forces the user to print the batch before it is posted.
  3. Once batches are correct, file the reports.
  4. Post the batch.
