If you do not intend interfacing Cashbook with Sage 300cloud General Ledger, you will need to set up a list of General Ledger codes and descriptions in your Cashbook system.
Each time you allocate a receipt or payment to an account, the program checks the file you have set up and displays the description details of that account number.
Before you begin setting up your own Cashbook Accounts, be sure to design your chart of accounts carefully.
Keep in mind that it is much easier to re-arrange accounts before entering them into the system than to change them afterwards.
For example, keep all balance sheet accounts together and income and expenses at the end of the listing, etc.
Cashbook also allows you to set up Budgets for each Account.
If you enter budget data, you can print a Cashflow report using budget amounts for forecasting.
When you create a budget for an account, you specify the budget amount for each period of a fiscal year.
In addition to current year budgets, you can print the previous year's amounts for comparisons.
